100% of our funding is from available grants, private donations, and a few corporate sponsors. The Franciscan Center is the largest single source food bank in Fort Wayne, and in one way we are different from the others. We have NO pre-screening or proof of financial need for our clients. If our clients feel they need our services, then they are welcomed. The only screening process at this time is to ensure that they only use the pantry once a month, which is a maximum of our current capabilities. All other programs, our clients may utilize daily or weekly if they so desire.

At the Franciscan Center, while all programs are overseen by a small staff the true heart and soul of the organization is our comprehensive network of dedicated volunteers. Over 4,300 individuals contribute more than 9,000 hours to the center each year and are instrumental to the success of our programs. Volunteers range in age from five to eighty-five, but all have one thing in common: they lend their neighbors a helping hand whenever possible, and help to create blessings in the lives of others.
